Sodalite - Know My Story!


 This Gemstone was first discovered in 1811 for the development in its type Region in the Ilimaussaq complex, Narsaq, West Greenland.

Originating typically in gigantic form, Sodalite is found as vein fillings in plutonic volcanic rocks, for example, Nepheline Syenites. It is related to other minerals having Silica-Under saturated conditions, namely Cancrinite, Leucite, and Natrolite. Other related minerals incorporate Titanian Andradite, Nepheline, Aegirine, Sanidine, Microcline, Albite, Fluorite, Calcite, Ankerite, and Baryte.

Crucial deposits of magnificent materials are confined to a couple of regions including Ontario, Bancroft, Quebec (Canada), Maine, Litchfield, Arkansas (US). The Ice River, close to Golden, British Columbia, contains Sodalite. Smaller stores could be found in South America (Brazil and Bolivia), Romania, Portugal, Russia, & Burma.
