Let me tell you My Origin – Carnelian

Carnelian which is often referred to as ‘cornelian’ is named after the color of cornel cherry. It is one of the oldest known Gemstones dating back to 4000 years. In ancient times it was known as the jewelry of the nobles, many emperors and rich merchants used it as accessories.

It has been used throughout the Greek, Roman and Babylonian era, where people used to wear it as amulets and make insignia rings and seals out of it.

It has a very distinct role in Christianity. It is also believed that Carnelian was one of the twelve Gemstones worn on the breastplate of Aaron, the first high priest of the Israelite and a prophet.

This is considered a Red Quartz mineral used as a Gemstone found commonly in India, Russia, Brazil, and Germany. It has a distinct red color ranging from pale orange to intense brownish-red. The presence of color is due to the accumulation of iron particles within a colorless Quartz Crystal. The color of this Gem can be enhanced by heating.
